Instrumentation and Control Technician (Priva)

Introduction

Priva is an automation system with over 50 years of experience, dedicated to controlling equipment used to maintain stable conditions in greenhouse cultivation.

We are looking for a technician to join our existing technical team to support all of our clients using Priva control systems.


Core functions

Under the supervision of the Priva Project Manager, the technician will be responsible for commissioning new installations, supporting sales activities, handling service calls, optimizing systems, and providing user training.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in project start-ups and commissioning at client sites

  • Communicate with clients to clarify their needs

  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain information about their equipment

  • Perform service calls

  • Participate in training operators and end users

  • Support the sales team with estimates (time and materials)

  • Install, replace, and calibrate instrumentation

  • Prepare various documents related to assigned tasks

  • Stay up to date on new trends, methods, and technologies


Requirements

  • DEP or DEC in a field related to industrial automation and control

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position

  • Bilingual, spoken and written (French and English)

  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software

  • Knowledge of IT principles, including networks and hardware

  • Organized and autonomous

  • Strong ability to manage customer pressure and stress

  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing situations

  • Position may involve physical work (extensive walking, ladder work, etc.)

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Valid driver’s license


Working conditions

  • Permanent position, 40 hours per week

  • Duties performed primarily on the road for short-duration assignments

  • Occasional outdoor work (Quebec City, Saint-Jérôme, etc.)

  • Possibility of occasional remote work depending on ongoing projects

  • Start date: as soon as possible
